Beauty On A Budget

After filming with local ladies at Unpretty I have actually started thinking more about what I am lashing on my face when I purchase make up. Then Laval Cosmetics , based in Warrington Cheshire, popped up on Instagram and challenged me to try their budget cosmetic range which was launched over 30 years ago.

I remember Buying Laval lippy from the chemist when I was a kid and it was cheap enough for a teenager to fill her make up bag with but would it be anywhere near as good now after years of using more expensive brands?

Is it tested on animals? NO. None of their cosmetics are tested on animals and the majority of the range is manufactured in England and EU.

Do Laval Cosmetics keep up with current trends? Yes. They sent me a huge box of glitter party eye shadows, contour sticks, cream blusher, lip plumps and more.

So I put their range to the ultimate test. A five hour shift hosting Liverpool One’s Big Christmas Street Party should tell us all we need to know.

My day starts at 4am kicking off with my Radio City Breakfast Show. By 3pm I was flagging and painting on a face wasn’t easy. I used Laval’s Perfect Finish Foundation, which is priced at just £4.95, the new Contour range and then finished with Lavals loose powder and bronzer. Wow! It looked like it really was a high coverage foundation but at a fraction of the price I usually pay for make up I was left wondering would it keep up with the night ahead?

As I was performing with my Echo Arena Panto cast too I was dressed as Tinkerbell…. I know! A 37 year old mum of two dressed as a fairy, there must be better ways to earn a living! Anyway I needed eyes that glittered and popped. Let me introduce you to Lavel’s Glitter Range.

I used gold but for the party season you could go all out with red, lilac or their pearl white. I woke up with some still on today so it most certainly lasts the night. Best bit is it costs £2!!!

I loved the pink and nude lip stick range and their lip pencils are as great as I remembered from my nights in the Paradox many years ago.

Was I impressed with Laval Cosmetics? YES! Their blushers and powders are so much cheaper than what I have been buying recently and work just as well. Plus I love Laval’s Ultra Lash mascara which is around £20 cheaper than the one I usually buy!

Would I buy Laval products myself? Yes! I will be mixing their products up with my other favourite brands this Christmas.

Foundations for under a fiver and a huge range of lip gloss’s to love girls start following Laval on Instagram
