Another whirlwind trip for the Power Family this time we landed in Chicago. Home to 26 miles of lakefront with 25 beaches. More than 8,800 acres of green space and 600 parks it really is a place to see.
We had a vague idea what we each wanted from this trip and it is safe to say Chicago delivered the goods.
From its world-renowned museums to beautiful urban parks, there are plenty of family-friendly sights for you and your children to enjoy. Let me guide you through our highlights and provide you with a little inspiration.
My kids are like chalk and cheese. My 10 year old Joseph declared he was there for the American Football so we made time to catch the Chicago Bears in action whilst my 6 year old daughter Annabelle was beside herself awaiting a trip to The American Girl Store. That was bizarre experience. A huge shopping mall filled with dolls. Countless names, personalities, outfits, accessories and even a doll salon to customise your doll with a unique hair style and piercing. We call my girl ‘Wednesday Adam’s’ she doesn’t get excited easily but this day will go down in history as she beamed from ear to ear!
Top off your trip by sitting down to a famous Chicago Town Pizza at Lou Malnati’s and be sure to grab a stunning family picture at The Bean, Millennium Park. We felt blessed to experience the fall celebrations. Trick or treat at the Zoo and street decorations to challenge NYC it’s a glorious city with friendly residents always happy to help.

We stayed at The Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile Suites, which was a perfect location and the heated indoor pool was a life saver. Great way to end the day before putting the kids to bed. One of our favourite adventures to date.
